B. 1974, Dan Wood is an artist and photographer based in Bridgend, Wales, UK. Predominantly self-taught, he discovered photography in the early 1990s through the Welsh skateboarding scene.

Working primarily within the documentary genre his photography focuses on people, place, and family. The projects often reflect subtle traces of personal history, interwoven with layered narratives, social commentary, and political critiques of the establishment.

His work is held in several prominent galleries and institutions, including:

• The Martin Parr Foundation, Bristol

• The National Museum of Wales, Cardiff

• MMX Gallery, London

• Ffotogallery, Cardiff,

• The National Library of Wales, Aberystwyth

• ICP - International Center of Photography, New York

• IKS –The Institute of Art Documentation, Germany

Wood has been featured in numerous publications and has participated in approximately 50 exhibitions both nationally and internationally, including 7 solo shows. He is also the author of five books (listed below)
